We have always been big fans of 3D nail art. Sometimes it’s a little too much for everyday. Sometimes you don’t have the time &/or patience to create a nail art design but you’re still looking for something different. We were recently introduced to Hex Nail Jewelry –  nail charms to bring any manicure to the next level. The charms range from adorable – unicorn, horseshoe, tiny bow…to hilarious/make a statement – ‘bitch’, dollar sign, playboy bunny. There’s definitely something for everyone. We fell in love with the bee & thought it would be a perfect little guy to incorporate into a tutorial. Details below!

Step 1: Paint nails with 1 quick coat of your favourite base coat, we recently started using Essie – First Base. After your base has dried, paint nails with 2 coats of Nicole by OPI – Hit The Lights. This polish is a perfect punchy yellow for our bee stripes.

Step 2: Using nail art tape or thin strips of cut scotch tape, place evenly space pieces down to create a stripe pattern.BO2

Step 3: Take your black polish, we use CND – Blackjack, paint over top of your tape pieces. Be sure to get in all the way at the sides, base and top.BO3

Step 4: Remove the tape, pulling in one direction for smooth even lines. Using nail glue or a thicker top coat (ex. Seche Vite) place your Hex Nail Jewelry on the nail of your choosing. Seal in your design with a top coat!BO6BO5

We are totally head over heels for Hex Nail Jewelry. We’ve been looking for something like this forever – always seeing it in magazines & never knowing where we can find it. The price is right at $1.75 per charm. And did we mention they’re reusable? Soak charm in hot water and gently pull from the nail using an orange stick. Soaking the charms in acetone can wear down the gold plating. We have a feeling these are going to be VERY popular! Buy here!
