NAIL ART TUTORIAL: AU PRINTEMPS

Just to give you readers some perspective of Toronto and Canada (if you aren’t from here), it is currently -30 degrees with the wind chill & outside our windows are white sheets of snow…SO COLD. Naturally, we spend half our time day-dreaming about upcoming vacations and future Spring/Summer plans. Today’s post is all about bright pops of Spring shades, while we daydream of Paris – Au Printemps. IMG_0156

Step 1: After applying a base coat, paint nails with two coats of Misa – Pay Days are Happy Days. A grey-taupe neutral that’s been in steady rotation before this site was born!IMG_0145

Step 2: Chose a mix of shades that you wouldn’t normally put together, this is a great design to experiment with colour. Choosing your first shade (we usually pick are darkest shade) Sally Hansen – Blue Away, dab with a small piece of cosmetic sponge into the polish and place randomly across the nail. Apply heavier in some areas, lighter in others.IMG_0147

Step 3: Repeat Step 2 with your second darkest shade, Zoya – Arizona – a bright orange IMG_0151

Step 4: Repeat Step 2 & 3 with your last shade, Bourjois – Fuchsia Hype. We can’t wait to bust out this shade in the Spring/Summer months, a perfect bright magenta. IMG_0169

Step 5: Keep repeating Steps 2- 4 this time adding your base shade back to break up the bright Spring time shades. Don’t forget to seal in your design with a top coat.
