We absolutely fell in love with CND nail polish for our In Bloom tutorial (See here) & couldn’t wait to get our hands on some more shades. Feeling a little inspired by Rocky and maybe, just maybe we went to see Madagascar 3 (kids at heart!) – we wanted to create an animal print design. It’s been a long time since we’ve done an animal print tutorial and we couldn’t wait to get our animal instincts on.

Step 1: After applying a base coat, we use CND – Toughen Up, paint nails 2 coats of CND – Brillant White. We were so excited to add a new white to our nail polish collection, seeing as white is one of our most used shades for tutorials. The formula of this shade was great – the polish applied evenly and was smooth, 2 coats is a little on the rare side for a white!

Step 2: We are a little obsessed with the ombre design, we’ve done countless designs using this method  – but we switched it up a bit this time you guys! We used an eye shadow applicator to create today’s tutorial, bringing the ombre fade into the middle to create a tiger stripe! We used CND – Electric Orange, which is a nice vibrant creme shade that applied like a dream. This colour popped so nice against our skin tone, it was taken to Hawaii 🙂

Step 3: Finally, using a black nail striper – paint your tiger stripes. We found it best to do the full left side, then begin the right side – so you can fit the stripes in together. Remember to lighten the brush stroke near the end to create a point. Also, vary the design by adding  “V” like stripes. Seal in your design & you’re ready to roar!

What do you think of today’s CND Eye of the Tiger tutorial? We love how they turned out!
CND retails for $11.30/bottle & is carried in over 90 countries, you can find at a location nearest you using the Salon Locator on the CND website. Follow CND on Twitter &Facebook to see what great things they are up to!
