NAIL ART TUTORIAL: STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER

Today we are feeling a little nostalgic. Our very first nail art design we ever tried was a strawberry – so we decided to head back to our roots with a little updated twist! *tear* Hears to kicking it old school & sticking with classic designs!

Step 1: After applying a base coat, paint nails in a pale pink to red gradient (Ombre is a way of life). We used Orly Cotton Candy, Zoya Shelby, Sally Hansen Caribbean Coral & Misa Valentine Red.

Step 2: Once your base colours have completely dried, begin with your strawberry tops. Keeping with the ombre theme through out we picked 4 shades of varying greens to match our bases. We used Essie Going Incognito, Essie Mojito Maddness, Revlon Posh & Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet. Using a small nail art brush begin by creating a “U” shape at the base. Paint long skinny-ish triangles for leaves – vary both size and length for each nail.

Step 3: Last but not least – strawberry seeds! We used 4 shades of yellow polishes for our ombre theme – China Glaze Happy Go Lucky, Essence Be Your Sunshine, Sinful Colors Unicorn & Finger Paints Lemon Sour. Using a smaller dotting tool begin by creating a large spaced out dice type 5 and adding additional dots. We find the dice trick the best way to find correct spacing between polka dots. Seal in the design with Seche Vite once it has completely dried!

We love going back and visiting old designs – we highly recommend it! It’s nice to see how far your designs and skills have come. What are some of your favourite classic nail art designs? Let us know what you think of our ombre strawberries – are they Beatles worthy? & follow us on Tumblr!

  7. Lovely strawberries, the nail polish use for this was very good, the texture that it gives and the brand. I will really try this at home.
