SWATCH REVIEW: COLOR CLUB – BLOSSOMING

Spring is our favourite season – full of new life, new beginnings & new colour. Luckily Color Club has managed to bottle the feelings of the season with the release of their new collection – Blossoming. Rich colours have bloomed in these 5 pastel hues, inspired by the beautiful budding flowers of the season – they have even released a glitter top coat that gives all these shades a perfect “morning rain-kissed” effect. We hope you enjoy these as much as we do! PS – an exciting announcement will blossom on Polish You Pretty featuring these shades soon…stay tuned!

Blushing Rose is a baby pink crème shade. This is such a pretty, soft shade and almost looks has a dewey look to it. The formula was a bit on the thinner side, and we needed 4 coats to achieve the look below.

Lavendarling  is a dusty purple crème that reminds us of the lush and rich colour of lavender. We’ve been seeing purples (& greens) featured in recent spring collections and we hope this trend sticks!  The formula for this polish was great, achieving full opacity with only two coats.

Hydrangea Kiss is a dusty blue-purple crème that delivers a perfect hydrangea shade (talk about spot on polish names!). The formula was a bit on the thinner side, applying 3 coats to acheive the look below. We love  this shade as it reminds us of some of our existing favourites; Essie – Lapis of Luxury & Revlon – Dreamer. These are two colours we love, and with this shade not being a full on dupe it is easily one of our favourites from the collection.

Sweetpea is a rosy pink crème polish, and with its perfect hints of purple and light mauve hues, this is hands down our favourite of the collection. The shade reminds us of a deeper version of Essie’s Splash of Grenadine and if you follow our nail art you’ll know just how much we love this colour. This shade had an even application and we only needed 2 coats to achieve full opacity.

Blue-Ming –  ahhh that name! This is a bright aqua blue-green crème (say that 5 times fast). There seems to be a version of this shade in every spring collection, but this one is set apart by its clear aqua tone. Although the formula was a little on the goopy side, 2 coats resulted in the fresh look below.

Diamond Drops is the perfect top coat to pair with this collection – a silver shredded glitter polish that achieves the “morning rain-kissed” effect mentioned above. We applied two coats for the coverage seen below. We’re glitter girls & don’t have anything similar to this top coat, so we’re glad to add it!

The Blossoming collection by Color Club retails for $8.00 USD & can be found at your local beauty supply store & on their site. The best news is that it’s avaliable now! Let us know what shades are on your wish list via Twitter and Facebook and don’t forget to stay tuned for an exciting announcement regarding the collection later this week!
