Here in Canada we learn about a winter festival in Quebec called Carnival, you celebrate the season with winter activites and the best part is seeing Bonhomme de Neige, a jolly snowman with a red toque who is the face of the whole celebration. (disclaimer: that might be the most Canadian sentence ever written) Today’s tutorial was inspired by Bonhomme & Frosty, of course.

Step 1: After you have applied a base coat, paint nails with two coats of Sally Hansen – Timeless White. Once the colour is fully opaque, use OPI – I Juggle…Men top coat. Continuing our French theme, this top coat from the Femme de Cirque series has jewel undertones and works perfectly for the subtle sparkle of snow.

Step 2: Using a dotting tool, dip into China Glaze – Liquid Leather and make two large dots near the base of your nail, these will be the two eyes made out of coal.

Step 3: Using a skinny nail art brush, paint a slight diagonal line just below the two eyes using Sally Hansen – Sunrise, Sunset, this will be the carrot mouth. After you make a straight line, go back to the base of the carrot and add more width so it appears more carrot like.

Step 3: Using the smaller end of a dotting tool, dot the two ends of the smile to ensure a perfect curve. Once the end dots have been placed fill in the rest of the smile.

This nail art is pretty easy & perfect for the holidays! These Frosty tips can be altered in different ways – you could add his corncob pipe, old silk hat filled with magic, etc. (Thumpetty, thump, thump, look at Frosty go) You could also put a Christmas toque on your snowman like Bohomme de Neige. We’d like to hear what holiday nail art you’d like to see before the big day – let us know via Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr. Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays so far! 🙂

  1. As seen on TV, I should say 🙂
